Formal registration is now closed but we will accommodate walk-ins to the conference panels and sessions.
The keynote lecture will be delivered by the celebrated author Amitav Ghosh. His works
include many award-winning novels and works of non-fiction that treat connections
and movements across the Asian Seas. His most recent publication is The Great Derangement: Climate Change and the Unthinkable (University of Chicago Press, 2016). This event will take place at 5 pm on Friday,
November 10 in the Chamber Hall in the Anderson Center on the main campus of Binghamton University. It is free and open to the public. Registration
is not required. A shuttle bus will transport conference participants from the UDC
to the event and back downtown.
A banquet buffet dinner will be held for registered conference participants directly following the keynote lecture. It will also take place on the main campus of Binghamton University in the Anderson Center reception room. The cost is $30 per person. Vegetarian options and a cash bar will be available.
