Undergraduate Student Fellowships

The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities offers up to two Unstipended Undergraduate Fellowships a semester to Binghamton University undergraduate students who are either in their junior or in their senior year during the semester of the fellowship and have a faculty mentor to guide them in their research.

All applicants must be in their senior year by the time of the fellowship and have a faculty sponsor. All Undergraduate Fellows receive a small research allowance.

Undergraduate Fellows commit to present their work publicly at IASH, attend other fellows' presentations and some fellows only meetings.

The seminar meets on Wednesdays, Noon to 1:30pm.

In addition to the application form below, the application requires a letter of recommendation by the student's faculty sponsor sent separately by e-mail to by the application deadline. The letter should certify that the sponsor has read and supports the application and will be advising the student as s/he pursues her/his research project. An IASH undergraduate Fellowship project can be an honor thesis that is to be pursued in one's senior year.
