2018 GRANT AWARD RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

The Institute for Justice and Well-Being is pleased to announce the award recipients for its most recent grant opportunity. These funds will be used to support research affiliates for their following research projects:

Woojae Han, assistant professor, Department of Social Work; and Chengbin Deng, associate professor, Department of Geography

  • Effect of Neighborhood Environment on Recidivism among Offenders with Mental Illness

Miesha Marzell, assistant professor, Department of Social Work  

  • A pilot study of alcohol consumption among African American College Students at HBCUs and non-HBCUs

Stacey Shipe, assistant professor, Department of Social Work; and Myra Sabir, associate professor, Department of Human Development

  • Life Writing and Single-Father Populations

Sarah Young, assistant professor, Department of Social Work; and Myra Sabir, associate professor, Department of Human Development 

  •  Life Writing and LGBTQ+ Populations

John Zilvinskis, assistant professor, Department of Higher Education and Student Affairs; and Deborah Taub, chair and professor, Department of Higher Education and Student Affairs 

  • Research on Students with Disability in Higher Education
