If you are a student in F-1 or J-1 status, your participation in Orientation is essential, even if you have attended another U.S. college or university.
The Fall 2020 International Student Orientation will include a combination of pre-recorded videos and synchronous programs that you can attend virtually throughout the week of August 17-21. You can view a detailed schedule here.
The pre-recorded videos will introduce a variety of important topics for new international students, including immigration regulations, health insurance, and recognizing and avoiding scams.
In an effort to make the best use of your time, while ensuring that you have the information that you need to be successful as a newly admitted international student at Binghamton University, this series of short videos can be viewed in less than 45 minutes.
Beginning on Monday, August 17, 2020, all available videos can be accessed on myCourses. Make sure to scroll down the page to the “My Organizations” section and click on the “Fall 2020 International Student Orientation” link.
Synchronous virtual programs
Our three synchronous programs, scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 will be offered via Zoom. Additional information about each program and how to register can be found on our ISSS B-Engaged website. You will receive a confirmation email with the unique Zoom link after you register to participate in each program through B-Engaged.
Note that a "New Student Fee" will be included on your student bill. This fee supports services and events for new students, including Orientation. The fee is charged to all international students in their initial semester. Your student bill will be issued after you register for courses.
