HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS ABOUT WHAT TYPES OF CLOTHING YOU SHOULD PACK TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE COMFORTABLE DURING ALL SEASONS IN BINGHAMTON, AND WHERE YOU CAN GO SHOPPING ONCE YOU ARE HERE.

New York state has four distinct seasons with a wide variety of temperatures. During spring, summer and autumn, expect moderate amounts of rainfall to occur. Summer: 50-89 degrees Fahrenheit (10-32 degrees Centigrade)
A light-weight jacket is sometimes needed for cool nights.

Autumn: 30-80 degrees Fahrenheit (-1 to 26 degrees Centigrade)
Medium-weight jackets and sweaters.

Winter: 0-41 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to 5 degrees Centigrade)
Heavy jackets, hats, scarves, gloves and boots.

Spring: 35-73 degrees Fahrenheit (2 to 23 degrees Centigrade)
Raincoats, medium-weight jackets, sweaters and an umbrella.

Binghamton University has plenty of clothing and grocery stores just a short bus ride away:

Groceries: Target, Weis Markets, Wegmans, Price Chopper, Town Square Mall

Clothing: Town Square Mall, Target, Oakdale Mall

There are two bus systems that can help you get around the city of Binghamton and the surrounding area. The University has OCC Transport (Blue Buses) and the city has the B.C. Transit system. Both bus systems have stops on campus and at local stores. These transportation systems are free to use with your student ID.
