Clear Browser Cache

This page explains how to clear the cache and cookies in any browser, and on all devices. Scroll to find the browser you are using and follow instructions for the type of device you are using. If you are using a phone or tablet please scroll to the bottom where you will find instructions for iOS and Android.

Google Chrome 

WINDOWS

  1. Click on the Menu Icon (Icon will be ☰  or ⋮ )
  2. From the menu, select “Tools” or “More Tools”  > Clear browsing data...
  3. Check the following:
    • Empty the cache
    • Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data
  4. Select “the beginning of time” in the drop down box and click on the Clear browsing data button.

MAC

  1. Click on Chrome on the top menu of your screen
  2. Select Clear Browsing Data....
  3. Check the following:​
    • Empty the cache
    • Delete cookies and other site data
  4. Select the beginning of time in the drop down box and click on the Clear Browsing Data button.

Mozilla Firefox

WINDOWS

  1. Click the Menu Icon ( Menu Icon ☰ )
  2. Select History, then click Clear Recent History...
  3. Click on the drop down box to the right of Time range to clear: and select Everything.
  4. Then, expand on Details and check both Cookies and Cache.
  5. Click Clear Now.

MAC

  1. Click on History on the top menu of your screen.
  2. Select Clear Recent History.
  3. In the window that appears, click on the dropdown menu to the right of Time range to clear and select Everything. If necessary, expand the Details section and check both Cookies and Cache.
  4. Click Clear Now.

    The progress wheel may spin for a few minutes, depending on how much data needed to be deleted. Once it has stopped, the process is complete.

Internet Explorer 

WINDOWS

  1. On the very right-hand side of the browser, select on the gear icon, also called the Tools > Safety > Delete browsing history.
  2. In the Delete Browsing History window that appears, uncheck all options except the one labeled Temporary Internet files and website files.
  3. Select Delete at the bottom of the window.
  4. The Delete Browsing History window will disappear and you might notice your mouse icon change to the wait cursor for a few moments.

Safari

Version 8, 9, 10, & 11

  1. Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen. In the menu that appears, click Preferences.
  2. In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab. Click the button Remove All Website Data....
  3. Click Remove Now in the pop up window that appears

Version 5, 6, & 7

  1. Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen.
  2. Select Reset Safari....
  3. Check Remove all website data, then click on the Reset button.

Opera

WINDOWS

  1. Click on the Opera button in the top left corner > Settings > Delete Private Data...
  2. Expand Detailed Options to show the list.
  3. Check the following:
    • Delete temporary cookies
    • Delete all cookies
    • Delete entire cache
  4. Click on the Delete button.

MAC

  1. Click on Opera on the top menu of your screen
  2. Select Clear Private Data...
  3. From the "Obliterate the following items from:" drop down menu, choose the beginning of time. Then check Empty the cache and Delete cookies and other site data.
  4. Click on Clear Browsing Data.

iOS (iPhone or iPad)

  1. From the home screen, tap the Settings icon.
  2. On the Settings screen, scroll down and tap the Safari option.
  3. Under the 'Privacy' section of the Safari screen, tap the button labeled Clear Cookies and Data.
  4. On the confirmation screen, tap Clear Cookies and Data.

Android (Phone or Tablet)

  1. Tap Chrome menu > Settings.
  2. Tap (Advanced) Privacy.
  3. Tap Clear browsing data.
  4. Tap the Clear data from the dropdown.
    • Select a time period, such as the past hour or past day or beginning of time.
    • Empty the cache
    • Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data
  5. Tap Clear data.
