Library Technology

The Library Technology department supports the Binghamton University Libraries mission to "bring people and information together utilizing value-added local initiatives to enhance learning, teaching, and research in ways that achieve national and international acclaim while strategically advancing our University's mission and vision" by providing high quality, innovative information technology solutions. In order to accomplish this, the department maintains approximately 200 computers and associated equipment for use by the patrons and the Libraries' faculty and staff. Library Technology also supports a wide range of Linux and Microsoft Windows servers, the Libraries' integrated library system (Aleph), and discovery platform (Primo). The department also  provides digital preservation services for the Binghamton University community. Additionally, Library Technology oversees the Libraries' Web services and provides custom Web and application development services for a variety of library-wide initiatives.
