Mohammad Tradat is a research scientist in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He joined Binghamton University in 2019 as a post-doctoral research associate with Prof. Bahgat Sammakia. He earned his B.Sc. in mechanical engineering (1998 -2003) from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). He began his career as a Maintenance Engineer at Al Tayer Group (2003 -2006). Then joined Jordan Armed Forces as a Mechanical Engineer (2006-2016). In the meantime, he joined the master’s program (M.Sc.) in mechanical engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). Then, Mohammad upgraded to doctoral studies at Binghamton University, in fluid dynamics and heat transfer, specifically in the thermal management of electronics and data centers under the guidance of Prof. Bahgat Sammakia. The field of Data Center Thermal Management is aimed at developing research related to the thermal management of electronics and their cooling systems, data centers, and other applications. To enhance the knowledge and contribute to the existing field of data center thermal management including heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and energy management. Tradat developed an understanding and presented a quantitative and qualitative comparison of air-cooled data center monitoring methods that filled a remarkable knowledge gap in the field of data center thermal management. Furthermore, Tradat developed and conceptualized different solutions to inefficient cooling and optimize the working solutions for data center cooling using a heat sink, single-phase and two-phase cold plates from chip to facility levels. He has 4 scholarly articles that have been published in leading academic journals with international circulation. He has also presented 15 papers at international conferences. His recent research work includes air-assisted liquid cooling, liquid cooling in data centers, heterogeneous integration of three-dimensional integrated circuits, and associated with machine learning. Distinguished dissertation award of Small-Scale Systems Integration and Packaging (2019).Mohammad Tradat
