BUZZER BEATER! All the best shots from Binghamton women’s nailbiter victory
And… exhale.
The collective holding of breaths turned into celebration at the Events Center after a buzzer-beating layup went through the hoop in the Bearcat women’s 45-44 win over Bryant in the quarterfinal of the America East tournament.
The game had four ties and seven lead changes, with the largest lead either team had being just seven points. However, it all came down to those last 5.8 seconds and what junior guard Bella Pucci did with it. Clock winding down, fighting through a double team, shot high off the glass… game. Sometimes the best victories are the hard-fought, grind it out ones.
More than 2,000 fans packed the Events Center to watch the game, and the whiteout student section made themselves very much a part of the game, acting as a great white wall behind the basket as Bryant’s free throw shooters missed three out of eight shots in the second half.
The team will head off to Maine to take on the Black Bears on Monday, but for now, just soak in the victory by taking a look below at some of the best moments captured by campus photographer Jonathan Cohen from Binghamton’s big W.
