Binghamton University moving forward, fast
When I think of the word renewal, I think of refreshing and improving an organization, a system or a process. For Binghamton University, our Road Map Renewal has done all of that.
After I arrived at Binghamton in 2012 and launched the Road Map strategic planning process, the University made great strides in many areas due to the innovative proposals that resulted from our discussions.
Last year, it was time to hit the refresh button, so we implemented the Road Map Renewal and again called upon people from across campus and beyond our borders to think about what should come next for Binghamton University.
The major result of our renewal is the creation of four University Initiatives that have brought a strategic focus to areas that will help our campus grow and become more diverse.
You’ll find more information on these initiatives in this issue of Binghamton University Magazine, as well as stories about the history of slavery in our country, how our geographers are documenting changes that the Health Sciences Campus is bringing to the residents of Johnson City and how some of our student entrepreneurs are getting valuable lessons about starting companies.
Enjoy the stories, and if you have any questions, I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
