Development of an ‘entrepreneurial ecosystem’ focus of Binghamton University Forum
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — “Koffman Southern Tier Incubator: The Start-up Journey” will be the topic of the Binghamton University Forum luncheon on Monday, Sept. 17. A lunch buffet will begin at noon, and the formal program will start at 12:30 p.m., in the South Ballroom of the DoubleTree by Hilton, 225 Water St., Binghamton.
Daniel Mori, director of the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator, will moderate a panel of representatives from three companies in various stages of development who will outline the value the incubator has offered them and speak about their intentions for continuing operations in the region. Mori has been leading and developing Binghamton University’s business incubation program since before the Incubator. He has also facilitated Southern Tier MeetUp events for the past three years, and has extensive knowledge in strategic planning and business development.
The panelists include Jeremy Ruch, founder of Bandalier, whose main focus is helping tech companies outsource inside sales. Ruch will discuss how Bandalier has the highest job creation number within the business incubation program and will likely graduate from the incubator with between 30-50 new hires. Bandalier has dozens of inside sales professionals who help software companies generate customer interest via multi-channel outreach. Danny Drake, co-founder of Enduraphin, focuses on delivering elite products that supplement a high-performance lifestyle. Drake will discuss how the company came to the incubator with an idea and recently raised $100,000 to help with production. Nate Fisher from Pressure Ulcer Prevention Pad, Inc. (PUPP), whose main focus is to provide an effective and easy-to-use solution for pressure ulcer needs, will explain how the fledgling company is a great example of Binghamton University students who turned down job offers outside of the Southern Tier to stay and build their own company here.
