Homecoming 2018, held Oct. 5-7, had the highest attendance in the event’s history. About 1,400 alumni and friends returned to campus for a weekend of events to help them bond more closely with each other and the University. The Educational Opportunity Program’s 50th anniversary celebration, which attracted more than 300 people, contributed significantly to the increase in attendance. Harpur’s Ferry and the men’s tennis team had reunions which also helped boost attendance. The TIER Talks speaker event presented by M&T Bank featured three alumni speakers who are experts in climate change. Homecoming events spread into the local area as reunion gatherings took place in downtown Binghamton and the Bing Brews and Bands events brought alumni to some of the area’s newest venues to enjoy craft beverages and local music acts.
