Notable alumni host regional events

First-ever event at Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C. among regional events

Regional chapter events in the Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago areas brought Binghamton alumni together in new and exciting venues.

  • For the first time, the Alumni Association held an event at the Army and Navy Club in the nation’s capital. The Nov. 14 event featured special guest Christopher Ullman ’86, an internationally renowned whistling champion, published author and political communications expert.
  • More than 90 alumni and friends gathered Nov. 5, in Oakland, Calif., for a Golden State Warriors basketball game. The team’s CFO Jennifer Cabalquinto ’90 hosted the group for a reception and provided an exclusive courtside pre-game experience.
  • Also in November, David and Martha, MA ’78, Ho hosted alumni at their BMW dealership in Glendale, Calif. Alumni mingled while viewing the latest high-performance luxury cars, and one guest won a gift certificate for a day at BMW’s driving school in Palm Springs, Calif.
  • Tony Kornheiser ’70 and Michael Wilbon brought their ESPN show Pardon the Interruption to Evanston, Ill., Nov. 16, when Binghamton faced off against Northwestern in men’s basketball. Alumni gathered for a reception, then watched the Bearcats and Wildcats at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Kornheiser and Wilbon were the announcers for the live broadcast of the game, which Northwestern won 82-54.
