Faculty named associate editor of prestigious IEEE journal starting in 2019
Assistant Professor Pritam Das from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department will serve as a 2019 associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics journal.
Assistant Professor Pritam Das has been appointed an associate editor for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Transactions on Industrial Electronics (TIE) journal starting in 2019.
Das, who joined the Binghamton University Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in fall 2017, has worked extensively with IEEE journals in the past, but this will be his first time serving as an editor.
“I have been publishing in IEEE TIE and in IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics for years,” said Das. “I have also been a regular reviewer for both of those journals in regular and special editions.”
Das has also authored 80 publications in IEEE journals and conferences.
In June 2018, the IEEE TIE journal was ranked as the 13th most influential journal in electronics and engineering based on the Journal Impact Factor, which is the average number of times articles from a journal published in the past two years have been cited in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) from Clarivate Analytics.
The journal also has the highest Eigenfactor Score for any journal in electrical and electronic engineering. The Eigenfactor Score is based on the number of times articles from a journal published in the last five years have been cited in the JCR year while also considering which journals have contributed these citations.
Both the Eigenfactor Score and the Journal Impact Factor show how influential journals are to the scientific community at large.
“As an associate editor, I will be playing a major role in reviewing, modifying and recommending manuscripts for publishing in this prestigious IEEE journal,” said Das.
