Aversano gift to Services for Students with Disabilities

Alumni couple provides assistive technology

Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) has been honored with a generous gift from the Aversano family. Binghamton University alumni Paul ’93 and Sylvia ’93 Aversano’s donation will transform the experience for students with disabilities on our campus.

With this donation, SSD students entering Binghamton University in fall 2019 will have access to a state-of-the-art assistive technology room. The space will be equipped with the latest assistive technology software – a BookEye that allows students to independently convert their textbooks and documents into an accessible format. The space will also have a communal study area fully fitted with comfortable and accessible furniture.

We are grateful and excited that our office has been recognized as an important part of the Aversanos’ philanthropic efforts.
