Hundreds of students take advantage of JCPenney Suit-Up event

Each semester, the Fleishman Center partners with our local JCPenney store to offer Binghamton University students an extra 40 percent off professional clothing during a private store event. The Fleishman Center coordinates many events calling for business attire, from job and internship fairs to employer site visits, and recognizes the financial burden this can put on students. Rather than let the expected attire be a barrier, the Fleishman Center coordinates this event to help students purchase professional attire on a budget. Through sponsor donations, Fleishman Center staff were even able to give away $700 in JCPenney gift cards to random attendees. The February 2019 JCPenney Suit Up event attracted over 320 students who collectively saved several thousand dollars on work-appropriate attire. The event has been well-received by students, and the Fleishman Center plans to continue to hold the JCPenney Suit Up at the start of each semester.
