Department to celebrate 50 years of women’s athletics

The athletics department is celebrating 50 years of women’s athletics at the University during the 2019-20 year. Look for a series of features, highlights, interviews and memories throughout the year at bubearcats.com and on the athletics social media channels.

Beginning with the 1969-70 women’s swimming and diving team, more than 1,500 female student-athletes have competed as Colonials and Bearcats. A special celebratory event is being planned for April so stay tuned for more details.

Athletics hosts Welcome Back BBQ

With the 2019-20 academic year set to begin, the Binghamton Athletic Department held its annual Welcome Back BBQ for the student-athletes on Tuesday afternoon at the Events Center. University President Harvey Stenger and Athletic Director Patrick Elliott welcomed back the student-athletes and gave them a charge heading into the new year.

Department hosts seventh annual alumni networking panel during Homecoming

Homecoming Weekend for the Binghamton Athletic Department began with the seventh annual Alumni Networking Panel, which was held Friday afternoon in the TAU Room of the Events Center. Coordinated by both the Varsity Club and the Student Athlete Success Center (SASC), the event featured four alumni athlete panelists who spoke to current senior student-athletes about making the transition to life after college.

Athletics celebrates Homecoming weekend

The Binghamton Athletic Department held several events in conjunction with Binghamton University’s 2019 Homecoming Weekend, which was held Sept. 20-22.

On Friday night, the Athletic Department held its Seventh Annual Alumni Networking Panel. Paige hired in student support/development role

The Binghamton University Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Samantha Paige as an assistant athletic director for student support and development. She will be the academic advisor for the men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as the wrestling program and will oversee the department’s tutoring program.
