Academic honors for fall 2019

Three teams earn NCAA academic recognition

Three Binghamton University athletic programs have received NCAA Public Recognition awards from the NCAA, the association announced on Wednesday. The teams were honored for posting Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in the top 10 percent of their sport based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate. Earning recognition from Binghamton were its women’s cross country, golf and men’s tennis programs.

The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or quarter and provides all of the academic performances for each team in each sport.

APR Public Recognition Awards are given each year to teams scoring in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sport, based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rates. The most recent APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years.
