University Recruitment

51 new searches* were opened this period.

60 searches* closed successfully with one failed search (among professional staff).

Faculty hires this quarter: Seven

Of all faculty hires this quarter, four were females, all from underrepresented groups and three were males, one from an underrepresented group.

Staff hires this quarter: 52

Of all professional staff hires this quarter, 29 were females, eight from an underrepresented group, and 23 were males, six from an underrepresented group.

UDiversity Educational Institute

During this quarter, the University Educational Institute provided 11 trainings (nine workshops for students and two programs for the campus and community) with a total of 333 participants (295 undergraduate students, 23 graduate students, four staff, and 11 community members). DEI provided its Building Bridges to Cultural Competency Phase I workshop that examined ways to build cultural awareness for faculty, staff and students.

DEI supported a graduation program with the Broome Tioga NAACP Economic Development Committee as part of the Youth Employment Preparation Program (YEPP). This program provides youth ages 14−24 with skill development and resources to facilitate their access to employment in Broome County. In addition, DEI participated in the Center for Teaching and Learning (CLT) New Faculty Orientation program, providing participants with information on available resources within the division.

UDiversity facilitated a workshop on Inclusive Recruitment with Harpur’s Ferry. This particular session was a part of their recruitment and hiring efforts for the fall. Topics included were how to address implicit bias, job description and placement assessment, search committee structure and functionality to support inclusive recruitment.
