Binghamton University “GreenMachine” awards points, prizes to users who share social content
Binghamton University has launched a new social media engagement initiative called the “GreenMachine” that allows users to share University-related content in exchange for points and possible prizes.
Through this initiative, powered by SocialToaster, users sign up for Binghamton’s program with one or more of their social media accounts. Once opted-in, users can visit pages on Binghamton’s website, recruit friends and share various news stories, videos and other content sent to them weekly.
“This exciting program is working to make it easier than ever for our campus community to engage with and share great stories from Binghamton University,” said Kim Faber, executive director of alumni engagement. “Whether it’s the schedule for Homecoming or sharing a fun blog with our students, each communication that goes to our GreenMachine members is carefully crafted to resonate with all of our audiences and provide them with continued positive experiences.”
GreenMachine members earn points every time they take action on the platform. Users with the most points at the end of each month are entered into a contest and have a chance to win prizes. Monthly prizes include Binghamton gear; Amazon, Target or Starbucks gift cards; and more.
Alumna Kristen Lagna ’14, MS ’15, was one of the first alumni to sign up for the program. “SocialToaster is a huge win for Binghamton’s engagement initiative to connect with alumni, students, parents, faculty and staff. Our ambassadors have really jumped at the chance to join the GreenMachine and we can’t wait to see the community continue to grow,” Lagna said.
As part of this initiative, members who sign up by Tuesday, March 10 will earn 300 points toward the monthly prize. To sign up to be a member of Binghamton’s GreenMachine, visit binghamton.socialtoaster.com.
