Alumni Association forms five-year strategic plan

At its May meeting, the Binghamton University Alumni Association board of directors approved a strategic plan to guide the organization’s work over the next five years.

This document builds upon the successes of the 2015-20 strategic engagement plan, which led to dramatic increases in the number of alumni involved with the University. The new plan also includes advancement best practices and engagement measures being employed more widely across higher education.

Although regional events ― when they can be offered again ― will remain an important engagement strategy, there will be a shift toward virtual content-rich programs that support a lifelong love of learning and enable alumni to participate from anywhere.

Career development programming is another major area of emphasis within the new strategic plan. The Alumni Association, going forward, will work with campus partners to increase these offerings. For example, the Alumni Association and Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development are offering alumni free access to CareerShift, a website aggregating job postings and company contact information from a large number of websites.
