Virtual alumni book club launches

The Binghamton University Alumni Association partnered with PBC Guru to offer a Binghamton University alumni virtual book club to engage alumni around the world and attract people who had never attended an in-person alumni event.

PBC Guru works with alumni associations across the country to provide a platform for people to participate in online discussion forums centered around popular books. In May, Binghamton’s book club launched with The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg, a psychology and self-help best seller.

More than 1,200 alumni, faculty, staff and friends were part of the launch, reading the initial book together at a similar pace, then sharing thoughts via the online discussion threads.
