Binghamton Learning Network launches

To provide a more frequent showcase for the intellectual prowess of Binghamton University alumni and faculty, the Alumni Association launched the Binghamton Learning Network. Each month, audiences will hear from a speaker with expertise on a current topic.

The series launched Sept. 30 with “The 2020 Election and Beyond,” a talk by noted political commentator David Schultz ’80, MA ’86. He discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic and other current events could set the tone for the 2020 election and what would follow.

TIER Talks, which was launched in 2014, was the Alumni Association’s initial dedicated effort to providing alumni speakers on hot topics. The Binghamton Learning Network is meant to supplement this by having events on a more regular basis. The new Binghamton Learning Network webinars are expected to be held monthly, while TIER Talks are held only two or three times a year.
