Students experience power of alumni network

Binghamton’s alumni network stepped up in January to provide assistance to students who are navigating difficult job and internship searches.

Nearly 120 alumni in Metro New York volunteered to speak with students at the region’s annual Networking Night. This event, held online using the Remo platform, enabled more than 300 students to speak with accomplished professionals in a wide variety of fields. Networking Night was part of the University’s CONNECT week of career development programming, which also included virtual employer visits and online winter session courses.

Alumni who volunteered at Networking Night represented industries such as healthcare, engineering, finance and law. Through individual conversations, students gained insights on how to adjust their job and internship strategies in response to the pandemic.
