New service opportunity for alumni

The annual Alumni Global Days of Service unite Binghamton University graduates in service to humankind, showing Binghamton pride and the collective power of volunteerism. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the University has not encouraged alumni to gather for community service projects. In place of the usual Alumni Global Days of Service model, the Alumni Association is partnering with The Sharing Tables, an organization providing for a number of communities in this time of need.

In March, the association launched a Facebook group for alumni who want to offer a sharing table in their region. They would be responsible for setting up a table with food, toiletries, cleaning supplies and pet supplies at an easily accessible outdoor location. Alumni can also participate in the days of service by contributing items to a sharing table in their area or engaging in other volunteerism.
