Fleishman Center collaborates with Admissions to host Career Exploration Week for prospective students

The Fleishman Center and Admissions partnered to offer career cluster-focused Open House sessions for prospective Binghamton University students during President’s Week. The innovative sessions were offered to engage students in a new and meaningful way during the typically high-traffic visit time. These collaborative sessions were hosted by an Admissions counselor and a Fleishman Center staff member with additional insight provided by current undergraduate students and alumni. Seven sessions were offered throughout the week, each highlighting a different career cluster and the resources available. Registration numbers indicated a great interest in the new session format. Throughout the week, nearly 500 students participated in the career exploration open houses. The highest attended session was the science-and-healthcare-focused event, with 149 prospective students in attendance. Students were very engaged in the sessions, appreciated the opportunity to ask many questions and also expressed their excitement about the career cluster program at Binghamton University. The Fleishman Center and Admissions have already begun discussions for future programming highlighting the career clusters.
