During the past year, the Alumni Association board introduced several virtual programs to engage Binghamton graduates across the country. The board’s recently concluded audit found the virtual programs attract many first-time event attendees as well as recent graduates.

Nearly 40 percent of the participants in the Mentor Match program had graduated from Binghamton within the last 10 years. About 40 percent of the participants had never attended an alumni event or volunteered with the University.

The virtual Alumni Book Club has nearly 1,500 members; about half had never been involved with the University, and a little less than a third were recent graduates. Young alumni accounted for 20 percent of virtual event participants as a whole; about 40 percent of attendees were being engaged for the first time.
