The Department of Campus Recreational Services has completed the installation of an outdoor fitness area (“FitCourt”) adjacent to the Recreation Center at the East Gym. The FitCourt features seven different functional training stations that provide a full-body workout to adults of all ability levels. There are over 30 pieces of weather-resistant bodyweight equipment, which means the FitCourt can be used in thousands of ways. The creators of FitCourt have designed a free coach-in-your-pocket-style app that has guidance, workout videos and training tips for using the equipment.

The FitCourt is available to the Binghamton University community at no extra charge. Campus Recreation’s team of certified personal trainers offer classes and training services on the FitCourt for those needing additional help, support and coaching.

Binghamton University is the first collegiate partner in New York state to install a fitness court as part of the National Fitness Campaign. Stanford and Baylor are among some of the other campuses in the country that have installed fitness courts with the National Fitness Campaign.
