Binghamton University will celebrate the community with the Let Us Dream Conference from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. This year’s theme will focus on ensuring access and equity for all.

The Let Us Dream Conference seeks to empower people of diverse age groups and backgrounds to participate in building a better tomorrow. This conference offers an opportunity to explore and share the many and varied community-service possibilities and intervention models. The primary intent is to create an inclusive, diverse, cross-cultural environment for sharing and growth through community improvement discourse among scholars, practitioners, students and volunteers. It will use an impactful and effective community-based working model that joins people together while also bridging community organizations.

The conference will include three panel discussions:
• Education partnerships: Fostering strong family-school-community partnerships
• Health equity: Addressing health disparities and access to healthcare
• Social justice: Supporting food justice and immigration rights

Keynote speakers include Amber Simpson, assistant professor of teaching, learning and educational leadership at Binghamton University; and Sean Britton, systems program manager for virtual health and digital transformation at United Health Services in upstate New York. For the first time, the conference will spotlight local unsung heroes who impact the lives of others in our community with their selfless contributions.

The Let Us Dream Conference is hosted by Binghamton University’s College of Community and Public Affairs, the Institute for Justice and Well-Being, the NYSED Central/Western Community Schools Technical Assistance Center, the Center for Civic Engagement, Binghamton University Community Schools and the Let Us Dream Organization.
