Binghamton donors invest in student success, create new opportunities

Binghamton University supporters continue to advance student success with their charitable giving to fund scholarships, innovative programs, learning opportunities and more.

Some examples include donor support this past fall for:

  • The Binghamton Fund for Opportunity Scholarships, including from Joshua B. Stern ’90, with a matching gift from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. More information about how these scholarships benefit students is online.
  • Harpur College’s digital storytelling initiative, including from Lisa C. Beck, with a matching gift from Exxon Mobil Corp. With digital storytelling, scholars, researchers and artists have new opportunities to convey information and share ideas. Examples of digital stories include video ethnographies, animated graphic representations of breakthrough scientific research results, podcast interviews and documentation of community histories through animated timelines.
  • The Transformational Leaders Program, including from The Mark Zurack & Kathy Ferguson Foundation (Mark A. Zurack ’78, LHD ’03). For more information about this leadership development program for students, go online.

If you have questions about how matching gift programs can increase your impact as a donor, go to our giving page and scroll down to the section about “Matching Gifts.”
