Runners Mackay, Schaffer wrapping up stellar careers
The first time Emily Mackay and Dan Schaffer were classmates, they were too young to remember it. During the 2003-04 school year, they were in the same kindergarten class at Maine Memorial School, which is located in the Binghamton area.
From there, the two of them grew up in separate school districts. Mackay graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 2016 while Schaffer graduated from Maine-Endwell High School that same year. Since they were both standouts in track & field and cross country, they knew of each other but never really got a chance to get to know each other.
