Alumni make generous commitments to support Binghamton

Generous support from alumni donors is helping to enhance the exceptional learning environment at Binghamton University — a priority of the EXCELERATE campaign for Binghamton.

  • James B. Bankoski ’91 and Heather E. Bankoski made a seven-figure commitment to enhance the Binghamton Codes! Program and the digital and data studies minor at Binghamton University. Their gift adds to their previous support for Binghamton Codes! Their generosity will also give students the opportunity to secure an interdisciplinary minor that reflects both an innovative skillset and a commitment to a socially and culturally responsible approach to technology.
  • A significant commitment from Mitchell J. Lieberman ’80 and Susan Lieberman will establish the Harpur Dean’s Graduate Investment Initiative. This support, at the student and the programmatic level, will empower Harpur College of Arts and Sciences to focus on immediate initiatives and those that will shape the future of the college. Examples of how the funding may be used include support for summer research grants and for scholars- and artists-in-residence. Mitchell Lieberman is a member of the Binghamton University Foundation board and the Harpur College Advisory Board.
