17 outstanding Binghamton students recognized by the University and SUNY

Seventeen Binghamton students were recognized by the University and SUNY administrations in late May for their all-around outstanding accomplishments and contributions during their time at Binghamton University.

President’s Award for Undergraduate Student Excellence

The President’s Award for Undergraduate Student Excellence is awarded to junior and senior students for their outstanding contributions to the Binghamton campus and/or the local community based on their academic excellence, campus involvement, community engagement, leadership, and creative and scholarly activities.

Senior winners:

  • Flynn Anderson — biomedical engineering; Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science
  • Kendra Gourgue — Individualized Major Program: English, cinema, sociology and Africana studies; Harpur College of Arts and Sciences
  • Maeve Kelly — nursing; Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Abegail Vidrin — integrative neuroscience; Harpur College of Arts and Sciences

Junior winners:

Provost’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research

The Provost’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research honors Binghamton University students who have excelled in research, scholarship and creative activities that extend beyond traditional course work.

Council/Foundation Award for service to the University

The Council/Foundation Award for service to the University is the combined award of the Binghamton University Council and the Binghamton University Foundation presented annually to individuals from the University community. Awards are given to those who have served the campus with outstanding dedication and who have provided exemplary service and/or leadership to the University.
