In late September, the Center for Civic Engagement hosted the Community Opportunities Fair for the first time since 2019.

Held in the Mandela room, 55 local nonprofit and community organizations gathered to table and share their missions with students, faculty and staff. Over 300 students checked in to the event to learn more about the organizations and become involved through internships, volunteer opportunities and other collaborative efforts.

Students who attended the event were welcomed with a list of tabling organizations, a map of the event and instructions to receive signatures from at least four tabling organizations in order to receive a free T-shirt. Upon exiting, qualifying students received T-shirts and were asked to complete a survey regarding the event.

Post-event, organizations were sent a follow-up survey that indicated in great satisfaction across the board, with feedback stating that they were thrilled to reconnect with each other and with students.
