Work on the Charlene and Roger Kramer Welcome Center has progressed in recent months and the steel frame of the new facility can be seen when arriving via the main campus entrance. The contractor has completed a variety of work to bring utilities to the site. In late December, roofing was removed over the lanes servicing the Information Booth so additional steel work can take place. The project will provide a place for visitors to stop, gather information and freshen up. It features a multi-purpose lobby, a place to get refreshments and restrooms. The Information Booth will also be renovated as part of the work. The project is expected to be complete in early 2024.

Several crane operations have taken place for the Library third-floor renovation. The cranes have facilitated the removal of old mechanical equipment and the installation of new equipment. A variety of other work is taking place including installation of ducts and piping, and framing and installation of walls. This project entails a complete gut and renovation of the Library South third floor including asbestos abatement and installation of new flooring, ceilings and lighting. The project is scheduled to be complete in 2024.

Asbestos abatement is nearly complete at Old Rafuse. Some demo work continues mainly in the west portion of the building. Work to install new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems is underway. The project entails asbestos abatement, minor building demo, new corridor walls, new configuration of bathrooms for private-use bathrooms, new exterior windows, interior doors and lighting along with new paint and finishes. Work is scheduled for completion in summer 2023.

Most exterior work on the Pharmacy R&D building at the Health Sciences Campus is complete. Ongoing interior work includes rough-ins for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems along with wall framing. The 18,000 square-foot facility will support the research efforts of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The project will be complete in fall 2023. Just a block away, interior drywall work and painting is underway at the Ford Family Wellness Center for Seniors. The center will provide primary health care and holistic health and wellness services for older persons. Work will be complete in March, 2023.

Design work is about 60% complete for a project that will renovate a portion of Science 3. This critical maintenance project will update almost 45,000 square-feet of space in the middle portion of the building. Work entails gutting existing spaces and providing new laboratories, classrooms and offices. Electrical, plumbing, fire and mechanical systems will be upgraded. Construction is set to begin in mid 2023. Subsequent phases will renovate the east and west portions of the building.

Design of an indoor multi-sport facility is nearly complete with the project set to go out to bid in early 2023. This project will create a fieldhouse for multiple sport use including softball, soccer, lacrosse, etc. It includes a ticket booth, restroom facilities and mechanical spaces along with some minor landscaping around the facility.
