Students and on-campus employers connect at Spring Student Employment Fair

The Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development Student Employment Program hosted a Spring 2023 Student Employment Fair Thursday, Feb. 23 in Old Union Hall in The Union. A total of 667 students attended the fair and learned about potential part-time job opportunities with 19 campus departments. One week prior to the fair, a supervisor workshop called “Maximizing the Student Experience” was held, aimed at assisting supervisors in developing a supervisory structure that facilitates on-going learning, promotes leadership and emphasizes the importance of gaining feedback. Immediately following the fair, the Student Employment Program hosted a workshop for students titled “Preparing your Application Materials for a Part-Time Job.” Students were presented with information to help them be successful in their part-time job search, including how to identify the types of opportunities available to them, where to find and apply for part-time jobs and how to stand out in the applicant pool by tailoring their materials.
