DSON Healthy Practices Clinic provides tobacco-free services

The Decker School of Nursing Healthy Practices Clinic held an open house March 27 to introduce the facility to the University community. The clinic officially opened March 30.

Located in AB-331, the clinic provides tobacco-free support services for faculty, staff and students. The nurse-managed clinic is staffed by Decker School nurse practitioners and undergraduate nursing students and is part of Decker’s Interdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Program (ITURP).

The Healthy Practices Clinic is open Mondays and Thursdays. Appointments are available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and may be booked using the clinic’s Google calendar (visit the clinic webpage for the link) or by calling 607-777-5200. Drop-in hours are 10 to 11 a.m.

When you visit the clinic, your health history will be taken and staff will assess your blood pressure, pulse, oxygen levels and weight. You will also receive nicotine replacement therapy and cessation counseling as needed. All services are free and confidential.
