Save the date for the Part-time Student Employment Fair

If your student is thinking about working on campus this fall, encourage them to save the date for the Part-time Student Employment Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 20 (the first day of classes) from 1–4 p.m. in the Mandela Room. On-campus departments who are hiring for the fall will be present to speak with students about their open positions. Students do not need to stay for the entire time and can drop by whenever works best for their schedule.

Working on campus is a fantastic way for students to gain valuable job skills and experience while also earning extra money. Students are employed across campus doing a variety of important tasks, including marketing, peer education and support, driving buses, teaching fitness classes, providing customer service and so much more. Advise your student that these positions can be competitive and they should create a resume and cover letter that are a strong representation of their skills and interest in the position. Career center staff can help with this! Students can book a virtual summer appointment with a career consultant for assistance with their on-campus job search.
