Golf finishes 6th in Big Sky Conference Tournament

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The Binghamton University golf season culminated with a sixth-place finish at the Big Sky Conference Championships on Sunday. The Bearcats shot 921 (+57) in three rounds.

“The conditions were better weather wise [on Sunday] than they had been the past two days. Sameer played really well (-2) and was the low for our team in the third round. Kyle also played really well, but had some back luck down the stretch,” said Head Coach Bernie Herceg. “Jack played the most solid for us along with Kyle over all three rounds of golf. We moved up a spot today and were able to make a little bit of a comeback. Overall, the tournament went well, especially under the conditions we were dealing with all weekend.”

Jack Faraci finished tied for 11th place with a 222 (+9) after three rounds and was the top individual finisher for Binghamton. Senior Kyle Wambold finished with a 229 (+13) tied for 17th place.

“I am very happy with both of our seniors, Kyle and Sameer. It was great to see both of them have solid rounds today as they finished their career up with us here at Binghamton. They were both great players, tremendous competitors and even better teammates for our program,” Herceg said.
