Watson College online engineering master’s degrees ranked among top programs in U.S.

U.S. News puts Binghamton University at #33 for Best Online Engineering Master’s Programs

U.S. News & World Report has ranked Binghamton University as #33 among the 2026 Best Online Engineering Master’s Programs.

Binghamton’s Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science currently offers an online Masters of Science degrees in Healthcare Systems Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Systems Science. (Online doctoral programs in ISE and systems science are also available.)

Starting in fall 2026, students also can pursue an MS in Computer Science or Information Systems.

U.S. News evaluated programs based on a variety of factors, such as student engagement, faculty credentials, services and technologies, and student excellence.

“This ranking is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the collective dedication, collaboration and excellence that define our college,” said Watson Dean Atul Kelkar. “It reflects the significant effort invested across the college to strengthen our academic programs, student experience and reputation. I am grateful to everyone who contributed — directly and indirectly — to this success of our online programs in the School of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering.”

In its 14th year, the U.S. News Best Online Programs is designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education. This year’s edition evaluates more than 1,800 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs using metrics specific to online learning. The rankings include only degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.
