CCPA’s Gala celebrates 20 years of public education and community engagement
CCPA hosts annual fundraising event gathering community leaders, alumni, and partners to support students and college initiatives
The University Downtown Center hosted the College of Community and Public Affairs’ 7th Annual Gala, bringing together alumni, students, faculty, and community leaders for an evening celebrating its 20th anniversary. One of the college's principal fundraisers, and it also served as a celebration highlighting two decades of community-engaged learning, academic excellence, and public service.
“We’ve seen a tremendous amount of positive growth in 20 years. This year’s Gala is especially significant as it honors CCPA’s 20 years of collaboration with our local community around research, service, and education. What I love about this event is that it draws so many community members who partner with and want to support CCPA," Dean Laura Bronstein said.
Co-hosted by Bronstein and Binghamton University President Anne D’Alleva, the Gala brought together alumni, local community members, and partner organizations. All proceeds raised during the evening will directly support vital college initiatives and student programs.
“I don't need to tell this group what a special community this is here at CCPA,” said D’Alleva. “There's such an extraordinary range of programs here. So many disciplines coming together, each with its own history, its own scholarship and pedagogy, and yet there is something that unites them – that commitment to public engagement and public service; it's at the heart of every program here at this college."
