In August, Edwin Torres ‘10, MS ‘14, was quoted in a U.S. News and World Report article about the use of at-home hemoglobin A1C testing kits. These kits can provide patients and their healthcare providers with information about a patient’s average blood sugar level over a two- to three-month period.

Torres, a nurse practitioner in the endocrinology department at Montefiore Health System in New York City and a PhD candidate at Binghamton University’s Decker School of Nursing, says primary care clinics often use the kits to deliver immediate feedback to patients.
