Tom Kelly becomes Bartle Professor
Thomas Kelly, professor of strategic management and business ethics, has retired from full-time teaching in the School of Management. Kelly, a respected teacher and outstanding leader, was a former dean of the SOM and Binghamton University vice president for external affairs. He also led the school’s AACSB accreditation process and developed its PhD program.
Prior to coming to Binghamton, he served as dean at Wilkes College. Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree from Wilkes College, a master’s degree from Lehigh University, and his doctorate from Cornell University.
His research focuses on corporate social responsibility, sustainability and social enterprises. He has been published in prestigious journals including the Journal of Business Ethics and the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies. He received numerous awards during his time at Binghamton, including Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in both teaching and faculty service.
Kelly has become a Bartle professor, enabling him to reduce his responsibilities, including a lesser teaching load, while retaining all faculty rights and privileges.
