Binghamton University to celebrate school pride at Homecoming 2017
BINGHAMTON, NY - Binghamton University will hold its annual Homecoming weekend from Friday through Sunday, Oct. 6-8, on campus. This event, sponsored by the Binghamton University Alumni Association, will be a celebration of Binghamton pride for alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of the University. More than 1,000 alumni are expected to return to campus for a wide variety of events that will reconnect them to the University and to each other.
Signature events of Homecoming 2017 include:
· The largest event of the weekend will be the Saturday afternoon tailgate party in the Events Center Parking lot, leading into the men’s soccer game at 6 p.m., against the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. The Homecoming soccer game in the Bearcats Sports Complex sells out each year.
· Two Binghamton University alumni and one current student will discuss the future of virtual and augmented realities during the speaker event TIER Talks (Talks that Inspire, Educate and Resonate), presented by M&T Bank. This event will be from 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday, in Casadesus Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building.
· Hinman College will have a 50th anniversary reunion, welcoming alumni who lived in the residential community.
· Fireworks will light up the skies above campus on Saturday, starting at 9:30 p.m.
· Bing Brews and Bands will be held late Saturday night at various locations throughout downtown Binghamton, featuring local entertainment and breweries.
