What is the 2023 Orientation experience?

Orientation checklist: A convenient list, found on my.binghamton.edu, of important to-do’s that will guide you through your summer. Make sure to complete all the items on the checklist.
Orientation session: An in-person, overnight session where you’ll learn about campus, meet other new students, and receive information about academic advising and course registration.
Meet with academic advisor: At your Orientation session, you will meet with an academic advisor to finish/review your courses for fall 2023.
Advantage News emails: These are emails loaded with resources, reminders and opportunities to better prepare you for BAP.
Move-in and welcome program: You’ll move into the residence halls early and participate in welcome programming throughout the weekend and during the first week prior to classes starting at SUNY Broome on Monday, Aug. 28. More information will be sent out about Move-in as we get closer to the start of the semester.

How will Orientation work?

FIRST-YEAR BAP STUDENTS may choose from one of four BAP sessions scheduled for the end of June and throughout July. Register through the Orientation checklist.

All BAP sessions take place in person over two days and students will be housed in one of Binghamton's residence halls for the night of Orientation. Day 1 of Orientation will be held at Binghamton University and will be the same as other Binghamton University students. Day 2 will be BAP-specific and will include transportation to SUNY Broome. You will have the opportunity to meet an Orientation Advisor who is a current student as well as some of your future classmates. If you cannot attend one of the dates below, you must contact New Student Programs at 607-777-6393 to discuss your options.

Family Orientation

Families have the opportunity to participate in our Family Orientation Program.
This program runs concurrently to the student program. There will be an option to register guests when you select an Orientation date. You can always go back in and register guests at a later time. Family Orientation will take place at both Binghamton University (day 1) and SUNY Broome (day 2).
