Comprehensive Pharmacy Law Review presented by the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York (PSSNY)

A one-day review of pharmacy law to help you prepare for the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE).

Taught by Joseph Bova, director of the Department of Continuing Professional Pharmacy Education at Long Island University Pharmacy (LIU) and associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences. He has a unique combination of experience in pharmacy practice, regulatory affairs and pharmacy education. Bova spent over 30 years as sole proprietor of a successful community pharmacy and for over 10 years as a member of the NYS Board of Pharmacy, including as chair, and currently serves as an extended member. He also has held the highest positions in NYS pharmacy professional associations. Bova has been a continuing pharmacy education lecturer since 1999, and has spoken to over 5,000 pharmacists. He has taught pharmacy law since 2010, and is a subject matter expert in both pharmacy law and pharmacy practice. 

Bova will cover:

  • describe new regulations impacting pharmacy in New York state
  • differences between federal and state regulations
  • list specific federal regulations
  • describe the proper prescribing and dispensing of controlled substances in New York state
  • discuss changes in scope of pharmacy practice
  • list the duties of a supervising pharmacist

Registrations is $195 for pharmacists/$125 for graduates
