Long-term Planning

Long-term Planning (LTP) is responsible for Capital Project Management.

Capital Planning - Planning for major construction and rehabilitation projects for both Residential facilities and State facilities includes initiating the project, consultant selection, design progress coordination, and construction progress coordination. Projects managed by LTP are designed and constructed by outside entities, and may involve contracting agencies such as the State University construction Fund (SUCF), Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) or Office of General Services (OGS).

Projects designed by Physical Facilities staff are managed by the Design group of the department.

LTP responsibilities include communicating the Campus needs, priorities and standards to consultants and assuring that the designs meet BU's goals. Significant consideration is given to minimizing the impact of the project construction on the general campus community. Examples of Capital projects include Science V, East Campus Housing, and electrical distribution upgrades.
