Dr. Meenakshi received her PhD in physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India in 1982. Meenakshi was a post doctoral research associate with Distinguished Professor K. Keith Innes of Department of Chemistry, Binghamton, NY from 1984 to 1987. She had spent a year of post doctoral research with Prof. Edward C. Lim in Wayne State University, Detroit, MI in 1988. Then, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor in Department of Physics, Binghamton, NY , in Ithaca College NY and Colgate University, Hamilton, NY. Dr. Meenakshi had worked as a machine vision engineer at Universal Instruments Corporation, Conklin, NY for five years from 1997 to 2002. In 2003, she was a research associate and visiting assistant professor working with Prof. David Doetchman of Department of Chemistry, Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY. She then joined the Department of Physics in her current position in 2004.
Meenakshi had conducted research in the area of molecular spectroscopy of aromatic molecules in excited states and infrared spectroscopic studies of organic molecules adsorbed on zeolytes. She has software product development and optical product development experience through her employment in surface mount platforms industry.
