SP2.10: The Role of Online Learning in a Premier University

This project proposes a thorough review of current practices and objectives in online learning at Binghamton University followed by development of an overall strategy for online learning and an infrastructure to support faculty teaching online or blended courses. This project is closely linked to development of the Center for Learning and Teaching, since the faculty support will largely be provided by the CLT. This project has met its initial objective with the successful establishment of an online task force. The task force is currently conducting an inventory of existing activities. In parallel with the work of the task force, the CLT is conducting a search for its first instructional designer.

The goals advanced under this project are:

  1. Build a dynamic and transformative learning community
  2. Increase four-year graduation rate.
