SP2.6: Fostering a Culture of Undergraduate Research

This project is designed to increase participation of undergraduates in research, with a focus on the social sciences and the humanities. We have made excellent progress in developing more information and support for students who wish to pursue research in these areas. A staff associate and two graduate assistants have been hired by the Office of Undergraduate Research and additional resources made available to support undergraduate research in Summer 2014. The new personnel hired are conducting outreach and developing materials to encourage greater involvement in research by undergraduates.

Goals advanced under this project:

  1. Build a dynamic and transformative learning community
  2. Prepare undergraduates seeking graduate degrees for the challenges of graduate school
